Are you curious about mycology? Or perhaps you’re already enchanted by mushrooms and want to join other enthusiasts? Join us for a night of nourishing food; magical, medicinal beverages; engaging story and education.

Pepe’s Bistro, Arise Botanicals and our brilliant friend and local forager, Dee Morin are teaming up to present a night of learning, food and fun. This event will be held at Pepe’s Bistro. This collaborative event is being offered on a sliding scale of $30-50. Each attendee will enjoy medicinal mushroom beverages prepared from Arise Botanicals and a mushroom-centric vegan meal prepared by Pepe Fierro.

While participants are dining and imbibing, Dee and myself will be introducing three mushrooms that you should know (or get to know even better). This engaging presentation will cover respectful foraging and reverence for the ecosystems we’re woven into as we explore the many ways fungi support and sustain life through a process of decomposition and interconnection. As real time digestion of our mushroom meal is in full swing, we will shift gears to discuss the ecology of the body and the ways that mushroom support immune, nervous system, digestive health and more. There will be an informational handout available detailing the properties and personalities of the mushrooms we’re discussing.

Accessibility information: There are several parking spaced located just in front of Pepe’s Bistro (and shared with another business). Ample on-street parking is also available nearby. There is a low curb from these parking spaces onto the sidewalk. An accessible curb-cut is a short distance away, on the corner of 11th and B St. There are no stairs to get into Pepe’s. Chairs and shared table space will be available for all attendees. We will spend the majority of the event seated and stationary. You are welcomed to take movement and fresh air breaks outside. There is no public restroom, but Pepe will grant access to the employee bathroom (not ADA accessible) for attendees. This is a small space and capacity is limited to 16 registrants. Please let me know if you are planning to bring children and/or if you have any accommodation requests. **For the comfort of myself and other participants, I ask that all attendees refrain from wearing strongly scented body products, thank you.

Covid policy: This will be an indoor event and masking will not be required, but is always encouraged. Hand sanitizer will be available. If you are feeling ill, I thank you for staying home. Refunds are available up to 48 hours before the event.
